Yoga

This means embracing yoga as a path to self-discovery by immersing yourself in movement, breath, and mindfulness. It’s about stepping into stillness, strengthening the body, and calming the mind while surrendering to the practice. With guidance from our dedicated teachers, you’ll explore Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga—cultivating self-acceptance and inner connection.

Sound Healing

A highlight of this journey is the Sound Journey, where you simply lie down and receive—immersed in sound, fully supported by Mother Earth. Our facilitators, with over 25 years of experience, handcraft many of their own instruments, creating a truly unique experience.

A sound bath blends crystal bowls, gongs, drums, chimes, and more to shift lower frequencies into higher vibrations. This full-body listening experience helps recalibrate your system, offering deep physical, mental, and emotional healing.

HIGH-END SURF COACHING

Our certified surf coaches are passionate teachers and dedicated ocean lovers, committed to providing an unforgettable experience. Surfing is a core part of Floating You, and at Lotus, we elevate your skills—whether you’re a beginner or an experienced surfer.

Our high-end coaching includes theory, guided sessions, mental support, in-water coaching, and daily video analysis to refine your technique.

  • Where is Awera Resort located?
Awera Resort is located in a secluded area on the central Mentawai, on a small island named Awera, situated in the Indonesian province of West Sumatra.
  • How do I get to Awera Resort Mentawai?
There is only one point of entry to get to the Mentawai Islands: Padang City airport. The best way to get to Padang is to fly from Jakarta or from Kuala Lumpur. Once in Padang, you can organize your own transfer or book our transfer service. If you arrange your own transfer service, our staff will be waiting for you in Tua Pejat harbor (Mentawai capital where the Mentawai Fast ferry arrives). If you book your transfer service with us: Our transfer service starts inside Padang airport. Forget about carrying your luggage during arrival or departure — we will take care of everything. Guests opting for our transfer service are picked up at the airport and taken to their hotel (Gran Zuri Padang) for the night. Awera Resort transfer service includes hotel & breakfast in Padang (superior room) on the way in and on the way out. The following day, you’ll be picked up at your hotel and taken to the city port, where the Fast Ferry leaves for the Mentawai Islands — a three-hour crossing (Fast Ferry tickets included). Once in Tua Pejat, you’re picked up by our staff and taken by speedboat to the resort, which is a ten-minute crossing away. When your stay comes to an end, we’ll take care of your return journey and make sure you arrive on time for your flight.
  • Does the Mentawai Fast ferry run every day?
The Mentawai Fast ferry departs from Padang every Monday at 6:00 am, and on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 7:00 am. The trip lasts 3 hours (on Sundays the trip lasts 5 hours). On the way back, the Mentawai Fast ferry operates on the same days — Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday — departing at 3:00 pm and arriving in Padang at around 6:00 pm.
  • What does Awera Resort transfer service include?
The transfer service starts inside Padang airport. Forget about carrying your luggage during arrival or departure — we will take care of everything. Guests opting for our transfer service are picked up at the airport and taken to their hotel (Gran Zuri Padang) for the night. • Do I need a visa to travel to Indonesia?
Travelers to Indonesia staying less than 30 days don't need any special visa. For stays longer than thirty days (and up to 2 months), you can apply for a visa on arrival that can be processed directly at the airport. It is important to have a passport valid for more than 6 months and a return ticket to enter Indonesia. To be 100% sure about your country’s visa restrictions, please check with your embassy — or let us know, and we will help you find a visa agent.
  • What are the menus like at Awera Resort?
Awera Resort offers an à la carte menu, covering fully vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free options. The chef develops the dishes based on availability and seasonality, so they change constantly. Incorporating Asian and, more specifically, Indonesian influences, his style reflects his broad, international experience and deep love of diversity. The fruits and vegetables in our dishes are grown locally, sustainably, and, to the greatest extent possible, organically. In addition, the chef has recruited a number of local fishermen to guarantee the freshest catch for our guests. Those with special dietary needs (or cravings) should not hesitate to let us know, as the chef and his team will gladly accommodate you.
  • Is there good internet connection at Awera Resort?
Awera Resort is served by Indonesia’s main internet provider, Telkom. While the signal isn’t the strongest, it works well for video calls, emails, and general browsing. Wireless internet is available throughout the resort — in communal areas, guest villas, and even some beach areas, depending on conditions. However, at Awera Resort, we hope you may find yourself less and less inclined to spend time in front of a screen.
  • Are there diseases related to mosquito bites?
There is no malaria in Mentawai, but dengue fever — a mosquito-borne disease — is a remote risk. While cases are rare and mostly limited to the north of the archipelago, there is no vaccine for dengue fever. The best protection is to avoid mosquito bites. Awera Resort provides high-quality natural repellent, and you are encouraged to bring your own preferred brand. Keep some close at hand, especially at dusk.
  • Is there a hospital on the island?
On Awera, life-threatening situations usually result from surfing in unfamiliar territory, combined with powerful waves, rocks, and sharp coral. Tua Pejat district hospital, 20 minutes from the harbor, can handle basic problems. For more advanced care, facilities are available in Padang, about four hours away by speedboat.
